Custom Pallets - Big Skids - Industrial Crating
If You Can Measure It, We Can Move It. Specialized Design and Manufacturing.
In the logistics world, "standard" doesn't always cut it. When you are shipping heavy industrial machinery, oversized components, or products with unique centers of gravity, we can help.
A Guide to Our Custom Capabilities
1. Design Features & Styles - We fabricate all major pallet styles to match your warehousing and shipping requirements:
-
Stringer Pallets: The most common design, using three or more parallel pieces of timber (stringers) to support the deckboards. Ideal for cost-effective, high-strength shipping.
-
Skids: Unlike a pallet, a skid has no bottom deckboards. This is the heavy-duty standard for dragging or sliding heavy machinery and is ideal for equipment that does not need to be stacked.
-
Winged Pallets: The deckboards overhang the stringers, allowing for more surface area and specialized shrink-wrapping or strapping applications.

Entry Types & Handling
How your team (and your customer's team) moves the product dictates the design:
-
Two-Way Entry: The pallet can be accessed by a forklift from two opposite sides. This provides maximum strength for heavy loads (often used in "Big Skids").
-
Four-Way Entry: Accessible from all four sides. We can achieve this via notched stringers or block designs, offering maximum flexibility for tight warehouses and loading docks.
Quality Components
A pallet is only as strong as its weakest part. We do not cut corners on components:
-
Deckboards: We cut deckboards to specific thicknesses based on your load weight. From lightweight shipping to heavy industrial lumber.
-
Fasteners: We use industrial-grade fasteners designed to resist withdrawal forces, ensuring the pallet holds together even under vibration.
-
Stringers: We source high-grade lumber for the core structural elements to prevent collapse under load.

"Big Skids" & Industrial Solutions
We have built a reputation in Perham and the surrounding region for our ability to handle Oversized and Heavy-Duty projects:
-
Big Skids: Need a 12-foot long skid for piping or steel tubing? We build it.
-
Heavy Equipment Bases: We design thick, reinforced bases capable of supporting engines, generators, and manufacturing equipment weighing thousands of pounds.
-
Nestable & Combo Options: We can design nestable pallets to save space on return trips or "combo" designs that integrate wood with other packaging materials for specific protection needs.
The Custom Design Process
You don't need to be a pallet engineer—that's our job.
-
Free Consultation: Tell us what you are shipping (weight, dimensions, fragility) and how it will be handled (forklift, pallet jack, crane).
-
Design: Beau and Justin will determine the right board thickness, spacing, and stringer count.
-
Prototype (Optional): For large recurring orders, we can build a prototype for you to test.
-
Production: Whether you need a one-off skid or a monthly run of 500 custom pallets, we execute with precision.
